Pelton Wheel/ Pelton Turbine
A pelton wheel is a tangential flow impulse turbine that generates mechanical power by utilizing the kinetic energy of water. It was designed in the late 1800s and is still used for hydroelectric power generation. It's commonly used in high-head applications, where the water has a lot of potential energy because of its height. The design of the pelton wheel allows it to operate at high speeds, making it suitable for high-power generation applications.
