Universal Testing Machine

Universal Testing Machine

A universal testing machine is a machine used to test the material's mechanical properties like tensile strength, compressive strength, and various others. Universal in its name represents the versatility of the machine to perform a number of different tests in it. It consists of two units: a loading unit and a control unit. The loading unit helps physically apply the load over the material specimen while the control unit controls the operation of this load application and provides the results.

UTM is commonly used in various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and research, to assess the strength, elasticity, and durability of materials like metals, plastics, rubber, and composites. The machine measures parameters such as force, displacement, and deformation to analyze material performance and ensure quality control in engineering applications.
